The oak aromas are well integrated and very subtle on the taste. The palate is lively, creamy and finishes off well with good length. From the pure active limestone rim of Springfontein under the ocean’s cool breeze, this Chenin Blanc with its great ageing potential is a wonderful expression of our estate’s unique “Kalksteen” terroir, its particular fynbos vegetation around, the Antarctic Sea waters close behind and the massive cloud catching Kleinrivier mountain range just in front.

The bunches undergo intracellular fermentation for several months before the wild yeast is allowed to kick in. After partial malolactic conversion, the result is a fully dry wine with intense colour and bouquet and deep but subtle flavours, best reflecting the estate's unique calcareous terroir.

Formerly Cabernet Sauvignon, now Pinotage kept on the mash for nearly six months lends a deep colour and intense, powerful structure with nevertheless, high complexity and finesse.
The wine has a deep red color with prominent blackcurrant, rip cherries, and cassis. Full bodied, intense, and well balanced on the palate. This wine will continue to develop way into the future.

From the cool Walker Bay limestone ridges of Springfontein Wine Estate comes this wild handcrafted and unfiltered wine. A complex and unusual Sauvignon Blanc that was left to cold soak as unscathed whole berries for four days, gently extracting the exciting tannins and distinctive flavours from the skins and seeds. With a medium gold color, the wine is immediately intriguing for a Sauvignon blanc. It has captivating floral, spicy and tropical aromas with some fynbos herbaceous notes on the nose. The palate has slight tannin weight, creamy with mineral freshness and delicate acidity on the finish. The intriguing aromas and taste profile make this wine ideal partner for a variety of food.

We naturally break down the colour of the juice from the gently pressed whole bunches without any chemical treatments. The wine shows pleasing fresh minerally, complex flavours and a long satisfying finish.
An attractive apricot color with golden peach hues. Very aromatic on the nose with tropical fruit, floral and vanilla notes. The palate is pleasantly refreshing with a lasting juicy finish.

Due to small size berries and long maceration on skins this wine has a more intense and more complex aroma profile. It is rich, full bodied with attractive black and red berry aromas, subtle oak spice, and sweet nuances of caramel. The specific Single Vineyard vines are (almost) constantly exposed to strong and cool winds from the Atlantic Ocean. The top soil is shallow, with deep, soft limestone rocks in which most of the roots is established and draws minerals from.

Layered aromas of pineapple, grapefruit, apple with vanilla undertones. Good depth of aromas on the palate, well integrated with oak toast notes and fresh after-taste of minerality. All grapes of this purely organic Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc derive from one of Springfontein’s oldest blocks, #I4, nestled in the estate’s limestone dunes. Within reach of the Benguela and the Agulhas current’s mixing zone, you can hear, smell and almost see the freezing sea waters swell and mist, not a handful of miles away, which in Walker Bay’s winter attract the calving whales. For this wine, the two oceans create a cool microclimate so unique as our tiny piece of earth’s calcareous soils.

A white Cape blend made with grapes grown on limestone. This blend is unique and true to its terroir with layers of aromas ranging from tropical, peach, citrus, floral, and spicy notes. On the palate the wine has a fine minerally texture with a refreshing long finish.
